HAPPY HALLOWEEN, LUNIES!

Didn't think i'd get 31 entries, but what a ride it was (what with being late the last 5 or so days ^^;;). We've just turned out our lights and we were the last ones ont he block to do so. It was pretty good, I haven't given out candy to the kiddies since we moved into the apartment around 5 years or so ago. It was nice to see them. We prolly got more than 120 kids. I saw only a scant few costumers at SJSU, but there were a few cool ones. Like this:

That Spartan's pretty keen also...XD Whee. KILL THE REDS, SUCK IT BLUE.

I found him.

This just made my day. ^^

My bf and I decided to walk down to Japantown in San Jose for exercise, so we walked on down, grabbed a snack, then visited our friend at Farout Toys. J-toan was doing a trick-or-treat for the kiddies at various shops and restarants. It was really cute. Also, the guy who ran Farout was playing a Godzilla movie that was f-kicking awsome. Don't ask me which one, I only know it was newer and it had a wrestler in it. It was pretty neat.
On our way back, I noticed that a few houses were dressed up to kill for Halloween.

It really took me back. I haven't really had a chance to really just relax and reminesce about my childhoods of Halloweens. Its been a long time since I can say I really enjoyed one, or even an October proper.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
There's something nostalgic about old webs, fake blood, and ridiculous manniquins. I remember these things when I used to trick-or-treat, something I haven't had the chance or guts to do since I was in high school. It was a chance to see things haveen't changed all that much.

Sure, you couldn't find a house on the US that still gives out handmade treats, or see parents allow their children into haunted houses that were inside people actual houses instead of on the lawn. But there was that crisp feeling in the air that almost takes you back to time when you could. It finally cooled off yesterday and today, and earthquake nothwithstanding (somehow, I neglected to mention yesterday that while carving the mushroom pumpkin, there was a 5.6 earthquake that nearly knocked our china cabinet on me), its starting to shape up to be a grand holiday season.

O RLY?

Here's a pic of my happy pumpkin dude. I like his face, he looks like my granpa, if my granpa was given to being a squash-like veggie-table.

The pumpykin with the face always goes on this silly lil stand we bought years ago. Its goofy, but it somehow feels right.

Dad put the tombstones and the mushroom pumpkin out on the lawn, where the screaming tombstone zombie thing would hopefully scare away any possum that tried to nibble on my masterpiece of gutted gourd.

Hopefully, you all had a great October and Halloween. I wish you all plently of holiday spirit, be it wintery, snowy, witchy, or Japanesey. Its been a great run, my friends, so enjoy it. You only get so many Halloweens in your life. Make the most of them. Eat Reeses Peanut Buttercups til you puke. Trick-or-treat until ppl staop giving you candy. Dress up like you're 6 again. Its Halloween, its Pagan, and its real.

*Happy Halloween, Lunies! See you Next Year!*

A Countdown of the Halloween Persuasion, Day 23

Top 10 Alternate Costumes in a Survival Horror Game:

10: Dante's Diesel outfit (DMC2)
-Ok, ok, DMC's not a survival horror game, but hot damn does this costume need honorable mention. I'm down with the leather jacket and jeans, but the zebra print ascot makes Dante look a lil more gay than he needs to. OMG, I just used the word "ascot" in a sentence with Dante. I'm going straight past his circle, all the way down to the ninth level. Do not pass Go.

9: Cindy Lennox's Bunny Girl Outfit and Alyssa Ashcroft's Lingere (REO)
-Heh, I like skimpy outfits. What other game let's you play as a Playboy bunny?

8: Miku Hinasaki's Maid Costume (FF3)
-I love maids. Miku just looks cuter in her outfit than Rei did though. Then again, Rei's not without her charms....

7: Rei Kurosawa's Office Lady Outfit (FF3)
-Meeee-yow. I love secretary outfits as much as I get kicks out of maids. Rei's cleavage ought to be a sin (that'd I go to confession for in a heartbeat).

6: Ashely Graham's Armor (RE4)
-XD There isn't anything funnier than that.

5: Eileen Galvin's Nurse Outfit (SH4)
-Helloooooo Nurse! I love Konami's alternate outfits, though Cynthia's just made her look more like a slut. ^^;;

4: Mayu Amakura's Pumpkin Head and Mio Amakura's Witch Hat (FF2)
-Matched up with the Type G (gothic lolita) outfits, its like a Halloween extravaganza all rolled into a tasty Tecmo taco...er, burrito? I guess yoou can't roll tacos....XD;;

3: Mio and Mayu Amakura's Dead or Alive Outfits (Kasumi and Ayane) (FF2)
-More than sexy, the girls look pretty cute in the DoA outfits. Except that Mayu/Ayane's bow has no collision detection and has the tendency to "break" when it comes in contact with Mayu's arm. ^^;;

2: Leon Kennedy's Gangster Outfit (RE4)
-As if he wasn't pure sex in his default outfit to begin with.... I just love a man in a suit and hat (and the tommy gun helps).

And No. 1: Heather Mason's Henshin Costume (SH3)
-SEXY BEAM! There is nothing laughably hilarious as the henshin sequence, combined with the deadly eyebeams Heather has when not equipped with an item. Sexy Beam is the best weapon ever, hands down. XD

Halloween Countdown, Day 15

I found something quite interesting over the weekend. I was at my grandmother's house for my cousin's daughter's birthday, and before I ate myself into a food coma, I went rooting through my old room and the closet. This is what i found:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
It was my old Princess Toadstood, aka Princess Peach costume from grade school. Man, it was so tiny. XD There used to be a little fabric mushroom on the chest, but it must have fallen off at some point.
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I put an olf x-mas ornament where the jewel/mushroom would be.
Here's a detail:
Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Its things like that that just barely keep my spirit alive with witchy, Halloweeny stuff. I wonder if this costume would fit my friend Skuld-chan....

Halloween Advent Calender, Day 10

Hmm, this is getting harder than I thought. What with a cold, school work, tests, and other things, coming up with a good article instead of copping out becomes difficult. Plus, I was playing Nanaca Crash and this game. Dress your girl up in many different outfits or COSTUMES. Ergo, this post has become Halloween related! Huzzah.

I totally wanna dress up as PEACH this Halloween.. Then again, is $50 really worth it? I can get a Wii game w/ that. Another resolution to keep the Halloweeny spirit is to wear either a costume or a Halloween t-shirt everyday until the 31st. So far so good (Target has some neat shirts for this year). But if all else fails, Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket there's always this costume! Maybe next years I'll be a GameBoy or NES. Being a DS would bring up too many opportunities to touch.

You know this is the hottest costume EVER.

FOOOOOOOOOO!

Here I Go Again On My Own

Kozumi's Quote of the Week:
"Smooth move, Dante."
--Effram's reply to Ashton after an instructional lesson in getting one's head smashed through a brick wall.

THIS SEMESTER IS OVERRRRRRR!!! *dances like a fruit a la Loki in vol 3 of MaLoRa* Man oh man alive. Other than that damned Brginning Drawing class, everything's been a breeze. I love writing supposedly semester long reports in 5 hours the day before or the morning of. ^^ Boku wa lazy.

Othern' that, I've been pretty unstressed....except that I'd been unable to get a hold of the seamstress in charge of both Inuki's Narugami costume, or my koi's Reiya costume.... So, besides that small stress fest, its been pretty calm in the rush before Fanime.

What costumes are on the ballot, you ask?
Friday:
Random school girls/seifuku. Complete with thigh high, pristine white socks....^^ On my ens at least. That's unless I get the floppy socks going in time.
Saturday:
Hikaru no Go: Akira Neko and Hikaru Tigaa >^.^<. Later on will be the Matantei Loki Rangarok set with your truely as everyone's favorite 8 year old detective and Ryochan as ever-lovable Mayura Daidouji....or the Goddess of Death and Father Complexes Hel, depending.
Sunday:
If it comes together, there'll be some Full Metal Panic Fumoffu action rockin the con with me as Chidori Kaname and Ryochan as Sousuke Sagara. Yes, I realize this is odd as well. It just means I get to bean Ryochan with a paper fan for a change. ^^ Also if Hel and Loki hasn't been done the day before, then it will be done today, w/ an alternate Loki costume. Summer version!
Monday
Hitting clean-up, Loki and Hikaru terrorize the con for the last day. It'll be Ra-Go-rok! XD Ok bad joke. ^^;;

As far as I know, that'll be it. If something pops up....and it always does, keep an eye out for us. Yes, G-Rated will be performing yet another skit. Ph34r us heavily. ^^ If anyone wants to set up a photo shoot, mail me or Ryochan. My mail's in the upper left corner, and Ryochan's is on her blog (check link @ end of profiles to your left, thank you).

Well, othern' that, nothin' been going on to report about. Oh, all you X-Box owners go buy Fatal Frame 2 when it comes out for the X-Box. New costumes, 1st person mode, new areas and other nice stuffin's are expected. If you're a Fatal Frame fan, I heartily suggest you check it out!

Well, back to work! Gotta finish up the last bit of things, so I'll catch you Lunies next time or at the con! Be there or be...um...left out...? XD;;;

*Til Fanime Lunies!*

I Have Seen Hel(l)

Kozumi's Quote of the week:
"They're not cute. They're what you see before you die."
--Best Week Ever (Feb 29-Mar 6?), on the "spongemonkeys" of the Quizno's Ads.

Sorry for the brief posting, but FYI Anime OD was freakin' excellent!!!!! Full-blown con report extravaganza soon-to-be forthcoming, as I am currently talking to my lovely Aikata. So this post will be rather short....^^;; Suffice it to say that I have seen the seiyuu light and the rumors of my "wardrobe malfunction" are completely, totally, and officially true. XD Ha ha, stew in that Lunies....XD J/K

Sate, I'll be seeing you soon! Speculate, wonder, and rumor...feel free! Except you Aise....that'd worry me. XD J/K

*Till next time, Lunies!*

Mon Mon Monday

Kozumi's Quote of the Week:
"Do I need a prerequisite to kick your ass?"
--Overheard when talking about classes requiring others to enroll in.

What's on Dez's Desktop: Miku and Mafuyu Hinasaki joined by a rope; Inu-Tsuzuki groveling; Light Raziel w/ the Pillars of Nosgoth.

Well, the official count for classes are 4, at 12 units for the Spring semester. This means Dezzie gets to sleep in on Mondays and Wednesdays. ^^ Ok, enuff of that.

I realized my 21st birthday falls on an anime club meeting. This frightens me. >.>

Byakko Update: LCM's shot so I have to send it back for another repair/refurb job, making this officially 4 iPods I've gone through. Yes, the one I got Sunday was DOA. Seriously, the Computer Gods must really think this is funny. Or I worked in IBM in a previous life (if possible?? XD). Maybe this time, they can fix the typo Dad did on the engraving. That might be what's cursing me. Or Steve Jobs has a voodoo doll of my iPod. Either or.

Jobs: No, I've been aiming at your touch dial. *shows stuffed iPod w/ pins in its dial*
Syndelin: So there IS a Devil.
Aina: And no we don't mean Mephistopholes. ^^
Loki: *glare* ><

On the bright side, I found a fellow cosplayer who's willing to sell costumes. She said she has over 40, some being repeats. I'm planning on buying a Cardcaptor Sakura summer uniform from her. And possibly a Quistis from FF8. She also has the Fruits Basket uniforms. ^^ I wish I knew tailors and seamstresses.

Hey, I found a recipe for disaster! 36 gods, 1 mansion, hundreds of social problems, and a dose of Divine Power. I wonder if I can sneak a mecha on there.....XD Spins offs are fun.

Loki: So....an entire pantheon in ONE house. Are you completey insane or just clinically?
Aina: Shut up, you don't have to be the one collecting their rent.

Wait, I might throw in some Greek ones and possibly have Ahura Mazda. XD Funfunfun.

Well, that's all for now....10 days til I turn legal (in one sense or another).....O_O Ph34ra93.

*Til next time, Lunies!*

Freedom is a Many Splendored Thing

Kozumi's Quote of the Week:
"If I hafta hear another commercial for that Christian rock CD, I swear I'm blowing something up."
--And I'm sure you all feel that way too.

Clio's Word of the Week:
Mugu mugu (v): Japanese onomonopeoia for chewing.

What's on Dez's Desktop: Dante of DMC; Tecmo's cute Japanese twins Mio and Mayu in their secret place (XD); a Southpark-esque Homer Simpson oggling the Stargate Donut

Well, Lunies, its Dez's last day of freedom, as she starts school tomorrow. Everyone pray to their respective deities that I get a full schedule so that I get health insurance. XP I want to say that the SJSU registering system sucks ass because it won't accept Safari anymore. Peoplesoft can kiss my ass.

Everyone needs to read Belle du Jour, a weblog about a London call girl. Yes, I'm really serious. If you like reading about sex and the practicality of the career of a call girl, then I wholeheartedly suggest looking at Belle du Jour.

My b-day's coming up but more importantly, will I pass my driver's test this Friday?? Toss in another prayer to those holy entities for my passing the test.

I'm battling the cold virus right now so most of RanLune's populous have been rather under the weather. If you wondered if Shinigami and Gods get sick, well, I have a testament from Tsuzuki, Aro, Byakko, and Hermod that being sick sux0rs. And there's a case of the undead itch, but I'm gonna leave that to your imaginations...and Raziel. I pity him. Almost.

In Dez's PS2: Jade Cocoon 2, Star Ocean: Second Story, Final Fantasy Origins, LoK: Defiance, Tales of Destiny.

Recent reading material: Japanese Folk Tales, Myths of the Norsemen, The Best Baby Name Book Ever, Odd Thomas, SJSU's Spring 2004 Catelogue, Rising Stars of Manga vol 2.

Recent lustings: Loki (Mythical Detective Loki), Dee Laytner (Fake), Anji Mito (Guilty Gear XX), Edogawa Conan (Detective Conan [which BTW has been picked up, the 1st 50 or so eps]), Aro of Swords (Pot Sticker), Hisoka Kurosaki (Yami no Matsuei), Sephiroth (Final Fantasy 7), Miki Shinichiro's voice, Mayu and Mio Amakura and Itsuki Tachibana (Fatal Frame 2)

This is what happens when I get sick and I'm supposed to stay in bed.... The mind starts to wander. I've also decided to do a short (5-6 chapter) mini-series that preceeds Ecstacy Education (the series about insane teachers who teach insane delenquents), w/ a working title of "Project Assassin". I plan to do a bit more background history on mainly Ashton, Rowan (no, Fox, not you, you just share the same name ^^), Bridget, and maybe Effram. I dunno, I just felt that w/o the full history, the comedy of EE isn't as powerful. For more information....watch this space.

Well, I'm off to get some sleep for tomorrow. I'm gonna kiss ass like the world has never seen. Go me!

*Wish me luck Lunies!*

Costumes.....

Clio's Word of the Week:

Chara (n): Short for character.

Finals fast aproaching. I've been given a basically blank check for my final project in 2D concepts. Whoo-hoo. ^_^ My dear Koi and I were up late last nite, plotting our costumes for next Fanime and Yaoi-con. Hotness. I am officially backed up, so for any of you who wanted me to do a costume, I may not be able to do one unless its one of the ones Ryochan and I have pre-decided. The list goes as follows:

Bastard!
Pet Shop of Horrors
Matantei Loki Ragnarok (who didn't see this coming XD)
....I know I'm missing one.... Ah~~ Brain fart....XD

Anyways, yeah. Ryochan'll chew me out on the ones I forgot, but those are the ones that I need to be starting on.

Not much else.....The Golden Laws'll be tomorrow.....XD Yay! Anime movie! The only bad part was that the club guys lied by putting MaLoki up first, instead of doing Gundam Seed and Someday's Dreamers first. Bastiches.... means I'll miss out on more crackheadedness and Loki. How could you do that to me????? So yeah, minor pouting, but not as much as the pouting earlier today, when playing Defiance and being thoroughly trounced by TWO bosses at the same time.... Ah well, you know its a good game if you die a few times right?

Raziel: "Avernus! Avernus! Ev-erybody dies in Avernus!!!"

-_- Thanks Raz, for that scintillating musical interlude.

Wrapping up....perhaps a short post tomorrow if I have the time. So catch ya on a later date!

*Til next time, Lunies!*

Kawaii-chan's Word of the Week:

Layer (n)--Cosplayer (Jap)

Oi oi, minna-san. Its me, again, back from secret mission (i.e., cosplay costume shopping). Hopefully my "secret" costume will be done by tomorrow, before I leave for Yaoi-Con 2003. Costumes thus so far:
Hiro--Gravitation
Tsuzuki & Terazuma--Yami no Matsuei
Pata--X-Japan
Dee Laytner--Fake
^^Secret^^
Not surprisingly, all guys....^^;;; I do better as a guy I guess. Pictures soon to be forthcoming (maybe).

This week, today to be exact, I will be attending a signing and reading by Neil Gaiman, an artist who worked on Sandman, among other credits, of which I don't wanna research cuz I am lazy and preparing for Y-Con. XP Which means I'll be missing anime club, but no worries there either, as Ragnarok gets a vacation. True I'll miss Scrapped Princess and a double dose of Azumanga Daioh, but, eh, I won't miss a moment of my beloved God-boy. XD Doesn't matter anyway, as TenTen has burned all the anime I wanna see anyway (cept Ragnarok cuz he is a punk XD), so its all good. Mayhaps I'll report on the reading, after Y-Con that is. XD

I am frustrated by the lack of things to blog about, and it seems I'm updating so ya'll don't think I'm dead.... Is October really all that boring??? Maybe I need to get out more, I dunno. But as soon as November rolls around, and all the events have passed, I will be back in fine posting form. XD XD Ph34rage.

Ah, doujinshi! Anyone interested in getting one, as I can shop for you this weekend. Please specify what you'd like in the comment box and I'll see what I can do. I have to sell them at the price I bought them at and there's a limit of one per person. If anyone is interested, please drop a line. Sadako-chan (name changed, etc, etc,^^) has expressed an interest in seeing MLR dj's....as am I....XD Mor3 ph34rage.

Battle Royale thingy up soon, as well as the promised and horribly late book and movie review. For all those who doubt a God, read this:
http://www.ojohaven.com/fun/translation.funnies.htm
And ph34r. Ok, enuff o' that. Ja ne, minna-san!

*Till next time Lunies!*
