Summer Fever, Terminal Case

Kozumi's Quote of the Week:
I'm not very good at video games. I'm really not. The entire industry has gone over my head and past my fingers and between my legs. I am just not schooled. That said, when it comes to either of the Smash titles, I could kick all of yer asses. It's true. I use Pikachu on both -- something that started as a gag ("Oh look, I'm being the minuscule and bitty cute rat Pikachu -- LOOK AT ME!") soon grew into a more sincere appreciation for what the character brought to the table: The ability to shoot fucking lightning at everyone else. I've got Samus trying to rope me with a fishing line on one side and Donkey Kong doing the Flamenco on the other. Yeah, look up at the sky, bitches.
--Matt, of X-Entertainment, on Super Smash Bros.

Dio: Good morning, etc, Lunies.
Lex: Today, we're posting from bed.
Diz: Its not laziness if you're actually doing something.
Dio: Which is?
Diz: Playing Brawl.
Lex: WHOA, when did we get Brawl??
Diz: Last night. We sold off your dignity for it.
Lex: ..........My dignity is $50?
Dio: Actually, $42.11. We had a pre-order down payment and a gift card.
Lex: Well, did you get change?
Diz: This is your dignity we're talking about. I'm surprised it was even worth $40.
Lex: I hate you.

Well, per usual, I've been bit by the Summer Fever bug far too early but can you blame me? It was a pleasant 80 or so degrees out yesterday, and I had to use my ceiling fan and leave the window open for the first time this year (not counting parties, since my room always gets packed by like 16 people in this tiny assed room). It was quite nice really.

I tend to get reminescent at the drop of a hat, and even the tiniest little things can get me feeling nostalgic. Example: this morning, after I woke up, I reached up and pulled the chain on my lamp to turn off the fan. The subtle click instantly took me back to middle school, when I used to spend my summer breaks in Vallejo, Ca. at my grandmother's house. We had an old ceiling fan there too. I used to tie ribbons on the chains so I didn't have to stand on my bed to turn them on and off. The sound of wind through an open car window reminds me of all my summer vacations to Disneyland.

I'm 25 now, I just filed my taxes, and I just got my own health insurance. I've had months to really try to wrap my mind around the concept of adulthood, but I just can't help feeling like a kid during summer and October. I guess I had a pretty good childhood; I think the best times of my life were middle school and high school, which is more than most kids can say these days. But maybe its that buffer of time, the work experience, the jury duties, all that adult stuff that really sweetens those childhood memories. I guess I have to admit I miss being a kid.

Then again, the adult stuff is fun too. ^_____^

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Kozumi's Quote of the Week:
"Its not rape; its surprise sex."
--Fairsilver, on some random note when talking about sex. Or something.

Loki: Damn, Inha, you look wasted.
Inha: *in high pitched voice* I just started a new semester.
Loki: How do you feel?
Inha: *same deal* I'm alive!
Aro: Dare I ask if she just ran 26 miles?
Rya: -_- She said school, not marathon running, Robin Williams.
Loki-chan: You realize that besides that, we've all been rather absent from things for about 3 weeks now, right?
Aro: That would probably explain the cobwebs.
Ashton: No, that's just me moving back in.
Loki: Fair enough. So, as first assignment, what did everyone do this summer?
Diz: Play way too much Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles.
Kozumi: Thank the gods that Aise was away.
Ashton: Miss Aise-sensei terribly. And torturing ukes for her in her absence.
Aro: Eat, drink, and be generally merry.
PikaAerith-chan: Draw, write and sew costumes, if badly.
Dio: Read, read, read. And buy insane amounts of manga.
Loki-chan: Cause mischief. And not get caught. XD
Syndelin: Watch wayyyy too many movies.
Rya: Visit theme parks and ride the rollar coasters til we get sick.
Clio: Browse the internet altogether too much.
Lex: Read Snopes.com, X-Entertainment and people's blogs until the sun went down.
Calliope: Hung with my homies on the West Siiii-ide.
Loki: ..........
Calliope Sorry. I mean.....made be-yoo-tiful music on Garage Band.
Lolita: Cook and garden.
Raz: Eat souls.
Diz: Eat sweets. ^^
Coleco: Take nostalgia trips by watching more "I Love the 80's/90's" than should be legal.
Loki: In short---wasted it?
Anna: Not if your Inner Child's 10.
Loki: ^_^ That's my girl!

Sooooooo. Yeah. In short, I did a lot, and still got nothing done. Funny how the black hole of summer sorta does that to you. Well, no more slacking; its SKOOL TYME! Shout out to GrandMel/Desdemona. ^^

Just so you guys know, I AM alive and suffice it to say that after the Get SET Summer Week, I wanted more Me-Time.

Loki: I was the bathwater. XD

*Dropkicks Loki* Ahhh, that felt nice. ^^ So let's just say I used every day before school started to catch up on the things I didn't do in the earlier summer months when i was sleeping until Noon. Namely: Go to PGA, go to a barbeque, and sleep in to 2. I love summer. Pity its gone. On the pluse side, i got to see my lovely Koi recently and got to play with Aise when she came back from Italy, for those who are on the forum.

So, as I get back to homework, I give a shout out to my whole posse. I'm alive. Catch you online, if not IRL. Welcome to Random Lunacy at its best again. Serving up lunacy that's random since......April of 2003. Regardless of what my archive sez. Man is it good to be back. And the King.

If You're Fond of Sandy Dunes and Salty Air

Kozumi's Quote of the Week:
"Why is it REPEATING?!"
--passing comment on the AMV "A Complete Watse of 6 minutes and 35 seconds"

Clio's Word of the Week:
Smaction: (n) Smart action, not unlike the first few seasons of Dexter's Laboratory.

What's on Dez's Desktop: Yamino and his incredible Canadian spatulas; Mio and Mayu as children; Frank is the sexiest sluagh; Loki and Heimdall w/ their respective...shikigami.

Aro: Welcome again, all RanLunies, to Random Lunacy.
Loki : Today we're posting from a sunspot.
Rya : Its a little warm out today...^^;;
Aro : Yeah but man oh man am I tanning. I look like a bronzed sun god.
Dio : 'Course, being bronzed in the traditional way woulda actually been less cancerous that bronzing by way of a SUNFLARE.
Loki : Truth be told, you look more like some sort of alien.
Aro : I haven't been this tanned since that time when I summoned Phoenix in a closed space. Under 2 bottles of NyQuil.
Loki : XD "NyQuil NyQuil NyQuil! We love you! You giant fucking Q!"
Dio : Dude, 2 bottles of NyQuil is normal for you, you undead alcoholic.
Rya : 2 Bottles of NyQuil is Aro's morning cup of tea. XD
Loki : Like I said: alien. XD
Rya : Aliens don't vibrate.
Loki : The non-H ones don't. >XD
Dio : Ok, then. Introductions. I'm Dio "Cosplay/Art Muse since 1999" Maxwelle.
Aro : I'm Aro "Master of Massive Amounts of Alcohol and...something or other" of Swords.
Rya : Nooooo, that's not awkward at all =p. I'm Rya "Resident Mage that Can Still Kick your Fighter's Ass" St. John.
Loki : And I'm Loki, owner of your Soul and savior to the oppressed.
Aro : XD XD What??
Dio : Oppressed Inner Child maybe.
Rya : Which should always be oppressed if its Loki.
Loki : I do my best. ^_^

Well, lunies. Its been awhile, but suffice it to say its been because of summer reading.

Inha" And massive amounts of lazing around and sleeping.

Shaddup. I got a lot done. So in between farewells to our Aise, who's gallavanting about Northern Europe.....or where ever, since I'm horrible at Geography....

Loki-chan: And Scandinavia is...well, if you look at a map...pretend there's a map.... If you look at a map...Scandinavia is the northern-most island of England. ok.
Sun Wukong: Your stupidity never ceases to amaze me.

...and fireworks downtown, we've been a bit busy. July's movie and book review soon to be forthcoming. When I can find a suitable movie to review...>XD

And...well, we've got some bad news.... One of our own....Asato Tsuzuki of Yami no Matsuei fame.... Well, YamiMatsu's been....licensed....

Tsuzuki:WEEP. T_T

Ok, I'll level w/ y'all. Viz picked it up....should be out within the next month or so and let me tell you....after reading the sampler, I'd have to say I'm pretty disappointed w/ Viz. In some places, the translation is pretty good...but overall, and maybe I'm biased about this, but I prefer Theria's work better. *shrugs* I suppose that's all fine and dandy...but had Matsushita-sensei released any more tankoubons? Or is the series going to stop at vol. 8, where the anime ends? These questions haven't been answered yet (unless Viz has it on the website, I donno) so I'm a bit upset and anxious.

Yes, I am going to pick it up. It may be bad, but at least its in English.....*weep* I'm such a hypocrite......

Loki: Should we worry for MaLoki?
Loki-chan: Donno. Maybe we should start downloading from Hemuloki before its too late.
Loki: Maybe it already is.
Loki-chan: So THIS is Ragnarok, ne?

Shuddup you too. *reads Saiyuki Vol. 3 sullenly* Ooooh, Sanzooooo....^^;;

Well, gonna finish up....new post on Monday......yeah..... Ja matte ne, minna.

*Til next time, Lunies!*

Please wife, as a supporting comedic foil I have a good chance of surviving to a sequel. Don't enrage the drunken axeman.

Loki: WTF, mate?

Not much to report, lunies. Kinda boring. I am now hooked on Crystal Chronicles....^^;;; Currently trying to kick my laptop into spitting some Fanime pix out to my home comp.... The battery's dead so I'm charging.....*snore* So, Rya, tell our faithful reader's what's coming in the next posts.

Rya: Sure. The movie review is making a comback, as is Inha's book review. Expect more lyrics from Syndelin, some sort of short con report from Dio, and maybe someething like the RanLune Love Triangle Fiasco.
Loki: I heard it was to be a softball match.
Aro: Great. That woud explain why we now have a baseball diamond out in the middle of the living room.
Loki: No, that's just Syndelin fiddling with Clio's landscaping programs.

Stay tuned.....because something's gonna happen and you can bet it'll include dropkicking Loki.

Loki: Crap.

Side Effects May Also Include Overuse of the Word "Crunk"

Clio's Word of the Week:
Shikigami (n): Summon beast/familiar.

Summer's coming, Lunies. Get ready to break out the suntan lotion and scraping together $$ for a Wow Card cuz you're too cheap for a season pass at Great America. ^^ Those coasters are callin' me Lunies, as well as promises for the Tower of Terror at California Adventure.

Rya: Its time for fun in the sun, kiddos!
Aro: AKA Fanservice for all.
Rya: *kick*

As Final Fantasy 11 becomes more and more addictive, I decided that if I had the money and the time, I'd actually try it out. Only I'm not sure who'd I be, or what race. Being a sexy Mithra sounds fun, but gamers do say that Tarus have more fun.... Elvans are hot, and Humes are pretty well-rounded from what i hear. Eh, 6 o' one, 1/2 a dozen of the other, you know? I'm already up to my neck in RPGs so I think I'll have to sit this fantasy out. On the other hand...well, what do you Lunies think? Which race and sex? XD

Rya: There better not be any Britishing in this game.....
Loki: XD The party leader's a tory scum.

Riiiight. I'm short one girl for my photo project. Help on that will be needed.

Hot girls and Hookahs kick ass. Just so you know.

Anime club tonight so I'm cuttin' it short. BTW, I'm auctioning off a few of my "spare" Norse Gods, so anyone who'd like, say, a quick little messenger or a perhaps a fertility god can step right up. I'm starting out small, so who wants Vidar, son of Odin and destroyer of the wolf god Fenris? I start the bidding at a buck and a half and a 1/2 pound of chocolate. ^^

Loki: Ah~~ A woman after my heart.
